How the FoMC works
The FoMC is built around its members: music conferences, showcase festivals and professional platforms connected to different music ecosystems across countries and regions.
Each member brings its own experience, networks and understanding of its local, regional or national context. FoMC brings these perspectives together to identify shared questions, learn from different approaches and explore where cooperation can make a practical difference.
The Federation does not assume that every market faces the same challenges or needs the same solutions. Its role is to connect different realities and levels of action, from local and regional priorities to issues that benefit from wider international cooperation.
How we work
FoMC is shaped by its members and by the realities of the music ecosystems they are part of.
Members share knowledge and experience from different markets, discuss common challenges and identify areas where working together makes sense, locally, regionally or internationally.
FoMC brings members together around shared themes, needs and regional interests. Depending on the subject, this may take the form of working groups, focused exchanges or joint activities. Priorities evolve as the sector changes and new needs emerge.
Our members’ conferences and professional platforms are also an important part of how FoMC works. They provide places to connect these discussions with the wider music community and bring different experience and expertise into the conversation.
FoMC also works with music organisations, public institutions, research and education bodies, experts and private partners where there is a shared purpose.
Members take part according to their interests, experience and context. Some subjects concern the whole Federation, while others are more relevant to a particular group of members or region.
Team & Governance
FoMC combines a member-led approach with a small international team responsible for the governance, coordination and development of the Federation.
The team supports the work of the members, coordinates FoMC’s activities and develops its partnerships and external relations.
